This is a post to answer many of the frequently asked questions I get, If you have any please send them to my email email@example.com with leap beer in the subject line.
Here’s the questions.
1) Do you think there are actually 366 beers available?
Answer, yes I do. It may require some digging, some begging and some special ordering. It’ll also require some visits to breweries and brew pubs, but that’s a challenge I take on wholeheartedly.
2) Where do you get all your beer?
So far all the beers I’ve reviewed have either been purchased at the local government liquor store in Mariner square , Campbell River or the Merecroft Village Liquor store. The MVLS has probably the best selection I’ve seen in campbell river. That said at least one of my beers in fridge, yet to be tasted or reviewed, was purchased by a coworker from Edmonton. It is, as of this publish point, unavailable for order in Campbell River.
3) What do you hope to gain from this endeavor?
Well, first I want to prove that it is possible. There have been a lot of naysayers I’ve encountered when I told them my idea. But I know it can be done, and I’m the one to do it. Also I really want to shed some light or open doors to people seeing what all is available for BC and specifically Vancouver Island Beers. I hope to try each and every brew this Island has to offer and give them all their due. Additionally I hope to educate readers on different beer styles and serving styles.
4) What are your qualifications? I am no beer expert. I like beer, and I like to drink many different kinds of beer. I’ve always been the guy at the gathering with a 6 of something different. I’m sure it’s led to a few sideways glances when I’m not drinking a Lucky Lager (wretch!), but it is a distinction I relish. This project is also has been slowly training my palate to distinguish subtle flavours in beers.
